Working with EMS Files
CCC Estimating allows you to import and export EMS files, CCC Pathways archived workfiles and workfile copies from CCC or from disk. You must have the communicating and EMS features enabled before you can configure these options.

How to set up EMS file import and export directories

1. Select Dashboards > Quick Start from the menu bar.
2. Select the Express Setup link from the lower right corner of the screen.
   - or -
   Select Help > Express Setup.
3. Select the Customize Workfile Settings link in the Customize Workfile Settings section. The File Import screen opens.
4. Ensure the checkbox is checked to enable EMS file import, and then enter the path where the EMS files are located.
   -or -
   Select the browse button on the right and navigate to the folder location.
5. Select the Delete Original Files From Disk After Import option, and then click Next. The File Export screen opens.
6. Select the appropriate EMS export type from the Export Type droplist.
7. Enter the directory location where the files are to be exported.
   - or -
   Select the browse button on the right and navigate to the folder location.
8. Click Next and complete the remaining settings in the wizard.

How to create an EMS extract

1. Open the workfile.
2. Select the Workfile tab, then click EMS Export from the ribbon bar. You can also select the File tab, then EMS Export.

Importing an EMS Estimate

The EMS estimate imports automatically when they exist in the folder location you set up. The workfile Updates status is EMS Estimate in the Workfiles views screen.

The EMS assignment files import automatically when they exist in the folder location you set up. The workfile Updates status is EMS Assignment in the Workfiles views screen.
