If you are unable to lock an estimate or supplement due to an Open Item message, here are some reasons why this can occur:
- If the part price is zero. (IF Operation = “Replace” or “Section” AND Part type = OEM, Recycled, A/M, Tire, Reconditioned, or Recored AND Actual Part Price field = 0.00).
- If the part has been discontinued. (IF Operation = “Replace” or “Section” AND Part type = OEM AND Part is selected from the MOTOR Database AND Part is designated as Discontinued).
- There is a check mark in the O column in the Estimate tab.
- A supplement was created but does not contain any estimate lines.
To resolve:
- Look for any lines marked with a check mark in the O column. Review the line and remove the check mark when satisfied.
- If no boxes are checked, right click line and go to line properties to see if Open Line is checked in there.
- If a supplement was created in error, delete the supplement.
- If a supplement was created and contains no estimate lines, complete the supplement.
If you continue to have issues locking the workfile after performing the above steps, follow the steps below:

- Delete the preliminary estimate/supplement.
- Save the workfile.
- Recreate the estimate/supplement.
- Lock the estimate/supplement.
