You can now lock a preliminary estimate or a supplement estimate on cccone.com.
Locking an estimate generates the official Estimate/Supplement of Record report, preventing further changes to estimate lines, other charges, and rates.
Follow these steps to lock a preliminary estimate or supplement:
- From the Workfiles screen on cccone.com, open a workfile with a preliminary estimate or supplement.
- Go to the Estimate tab.
- Click on the Lock button in the upper right-hand side of the toolbar.
- Confirm the Estimator on the workfile and click Next.
- Once the estimate is successfully locked, click Done.
Prior to locking the estimate, any workfile fields required by the repair facility and/or insurance company are validated. If required fields are detected, an exception screen is displayed. Resolve all exceptions, then lock the estimate again.
When Advisor is enabled, an Advisor check is automatically run while locking the estimate. You will be notified if Advisor exceptions are found. At that point, you have the opportunity to continue locking the estimate or exit the lock process to resolve Advisor exceptions.
Some insurance companies provide the ability to send an estimate without an assignment. This is also supported on cccone.com, if your insurance company profile is configured to allow it.
To send a locked estimate without an assignment:
- Open a workfile with a preliminary estimate or supplement to the Estimate screen
- Click on the Lock button in the upper right-hand side of the toolbar
- Select Lock and send Confirm the Estimator on the workfile and click Next
- Once the estimate is successfully locked, click Done
Same as locking an estimate on an assignment, insurance required fields are validated and Advisor is automatically checked. When successfully locked, the estimate of record is communicated to the insurance company along with applicable photos.
Notes: Only users with Create and edit workfilesandLock estimate and supplements permissions may lock estimates.
