Creating a Supplement
To create a supplement, open the original locked estimate. Select the Create Supplement button in the toolbar. The program re-opens the original estimate. Open the database and select parts for the supplement. Once you begin a supplement, you will have to lock it or delete it before you will be able to conclude the estimate.
You can create a supplement only if you have already locked the estimate. You won’t be able to change anything in the original estimate. You will only be able to add parts and labor to the supplement.
To create a supplement
- Open a workfile.
- Select the Estimate tab, and then select the Lines tab to display the lines of the locked estimate for which you want to create a supplement.
- Select the Create Supplement button from the toolbar.
- Select Yes from the create supplement confirmation screen.
- Select the MOTOR tab.
- Select parts and operations for the new supplement. The program adds the supplement lines after the estimate lines. The supplement lines begin with the letter S.
- Click Save or Save and Close.
Locking an Estimate or a Supplement
To lock an estimate or a supplement, open the workfile and select the Estimate tab, Lines tab. Select the Lock Estimate or the Lock Supplement action from the toolbar. Once locked, the estimate or supplement is communicated back to the insurance company if applicable. The program also verifies that all required fields are populated before the estimate can be locked.
To lock an estimate or a supplement
- Open the workfile.
- Select the Estimate tab, and then select the Lines tab.
- Select the Lock Estimate or the Lock Supplement action from the Edit tab ribbon bar. The Lock Estimate or Lock Supplement dialog box opens.
- Select the estimator from the Estimator droplist, and then click OK.

Click OK to accept the estimator name displayed in the Estimator field. - Click Save or Save and Close.
