Artificial Intelligence
These settings allow you to configure advanced AI for Mobile Jumpstart. When enabled, AI is applied to certain photos captured in CCC® Mobile. The resulting AI predictions are then displayed to the estimator in Mobile Jumpstart. AI can be configured to predict damage parts, and basic operations like repair or replace.
The following settings are available in this section:
Display operation predictions
When enabled, AI is used to predict damaged parts and their corresponding operations. This feature uses advanced machine learning to suggest parts based on photos of vehicle damage. The AI algorithm also uses tens of millions of previously written estimates to predict which parts should be repaired or replaced. The resulting predictions are shown as a percentage called Predicted Precision.
Automatically apply operation predictions
If you’ve chosen to enable Display operation predictions (see above), you can also enable auto-apply. Auto-apply will select the Replace operation in Mobile Jumpstart when the Predicted Precision exceeds a threshold that you define.
For example:
Automatically apply the "Replace" operation to parts with a predicted precision percent above 90%
Operations that are auto applied are highlighted in the Mobile Jumpstart screen and are visible to the estimator before the estimate is generated.
Prediction threshold
Your threshold is used in conjunction with the auto-apply setting above. When Automatically apply operation predictions is enabled, your shop must specify a threshold from 80% to 99%. This threshold is used to determine when to automatically apply the Replace operation in Mobile Jumpstart.
R&I Automation
Mobile Jumpstart automatically adds R&I operations that correspond with the repair and replace selections made in CCC® Mobile. For example, selecting to replace and refinish the front door will automatically add R&I operations for the belt molding, door handle, and trim panel.
This setting allows you to configure the prevalence of different R&I operations for estimates written through Mobile Jumpstart. By adjusting this setting, you can tailor Jumpstart to create preliminary estimates that better align with expectations of your shop.
The specific R&I operations added to the estimate vary by vehicle and depend on the Repair and Replace decisions made in Mobile Jumpstart. To adjust this setting, move the slider to the desired level:
Level 1 Example: A few common R&I operations |
Level 2 Example: R&I operations for basic exterior parts |
Level 3 Example: R&I operations for basic exterior parts, and exterior moldings |
Level 4 Example: R&I operations for basic exterior parts, exterior moldings, and smaller exterior parts |
Level 5 Example: R&I operation for basic exterior parts, exterior moldings, smaller exterior parts, and interior trim |
Part Code Automation
Mobile Jumpstart can be configured to automatically add certain part codes depending on the details of your estimate. For example, when paint labor exists on the estimate, Mobile Jumpstart can automatically add for Hazardous Waste.
These settings allow you to enable different part codes to be automatically added. To enable a part code, just select the appropriate part code in the dropdown. The codes in the dropwdon list correspond with the codes that you’ve already configured in your Repair Facility profile.
For insurance assignments, Mobile Jumpstart will use any linked part codes defined in the Claim Office profile. So, there’s no need to specify multiple codes for a given setting. Simply link your repair facility part code to the corresponding insurance code inside the insurance Claim Office profile.

Launching Jumpstart
Prerequisites
To jumpstart an estimate, a workfile must meet the following conditions:
- Vehicle year is 2001 or newer
- Primary impact point is 1 through 12
- Database vehicle is selected (generic vehicles is not supported)
- Vehicle contains MOTOR parts data
- Preliminary estimate file (supplement is not supported)
- No existing estimate line data
Jumpstart with AI
When AI is enabled for your shop, certain photos are necessary for Mobile Jumpstart to generate AI predictions. The following photos are needed to apply AI:
-
Left front
-
Right front
-
Left rear
-
Right rear
-
Damage left
-
Damage center
-
Damage right
AI may also be applied to additional photos on the workfile when they're available.
Jumpstart Action
To kick off the Jumpstart process from the mobile app:
Note: A loading screen is shown while Jumpstart gets the parts list for the vehicle.
|
Step 1: Part Selection
Mobile Jumpstart shows a simplified list of the vehicle’s major parts. The estimator can select to Repair or Replace any of the parts in this list. If AI is enabled for your shop, some parts may be highlighted, or operations automatically applied.
Reading AI Predictions
When AI predictions are generated, they’re shown in line with the corresponding part. There are three ways AI predictions may be displayed for a given part in Mobile Jumpstart:
1) Visual Indicator An icon next to the part description that indicates a part is likely to be damaged
2) Automatic Selection Replace operation has been automatically applied to a given part. Operations that are auto applied by AI are shown in purple font.
3) Predicted Precision The AI algorithm uses tens of millions of previously written estimates to predict the likelihood that a part needs repair or replacement. The resulting prediction is shown as a percentage called Predicted Precision. This percentage is shown next to the corresponding operation (e.g., REPAIR 82%)
|
Selecting Repair and Replace
For any part in the list, you can select or modify the operation applied to the part. Only the REPAIR or REPLACE operations are available when creating a preliminary estimate in Mobile Jumpstart. Other operations (e.g., R&I) may be added automatically based on the Repair and Replace decisions made in this step.
To select an operation:
Note: The operation selected for the part will be displayed to the right of the part description. Any operation automatically applied by AI will be shown in purple font.
|
When selecting the REPAIR operation, there are a few additional steps:
|
Removing an Operation
If you determine a selected part doesn’t require repair or replacement, you can remove the operation so that it’s not reflected on the estimate.
To remove an operation from a given part:
Note: The operation name will no longer be shown to the right of the part
|
Finalizing Selections
Once you’ve reviewed the parts and made your Repair and Replace decisions, tap the NEXT button in the upper right-hand corner of the screen.
Step 2: Part Questions
Some parts commonly have different variations due to technologies or finishes available from the manufacturer (e.g., mirror assemblies). In those cases, you’ll need to answer a few questions to land on the right part for your estimate. This helps simplify the parts selection process by eliminating the need to crawl the database to read through variations in the part description.
For each question displayed, simply tap one of the available options. Some questions may require additional clarification based on option selected. When this occurs another set of options will appear immediately following the previous selected option. When all questions have been answered, you’re ready to build the estimate. Just tap the NEXT button in the upper right-hand side of the screen.
|
Step 3: Building Estimate
A working screen is displayed while Mobile Jumpstart builds your preliminary estimate. All your part selections and answers to part questions are processed. Additional operations (e.g., R&I) and part codes are automatically added to the estimate based on your shop’s configuration.
Part Sourcing
Overview
Preliminary estimates written with Mobile Jumpstart include OEM parts only. Updating the estimate with alternative part selections is easy using the Source Parts feature. This section describes how to update replacement part selections on cccone.com. This allows you to source your alternatives without having to manually delete and re-add estimate lines.
