If you are having issues with a VIN decoding incorrectly or not decoding at all, try the troubleshooting steps below.
- Create a new workfile with the same vehicle information.
- If the graphic appears in the newly created workfile, the issue is with the workfile and it may be damaged.
- If the graphics are missing in the newly created workfile, continue troubleshooting.
Verifying the Vehicle Database Date:
- Open a new workfile.
- From the Vehicle Tab enter the information for a common vehicle you have recently decoded.
- Once you have entered the necessary information, click Select Vehicle.
- Select the vehicle and click OK.
- Click on the Estimate Tab > Select Estimate Properties from the top of the screen.
- In the Estimate Properties box verify the Vehicle Database Date in the lower right-hand side.
- If the Vehicle Database Date is more than 20 days old you will need to update your database.
- If your Vehicle Database Date is current you may need to run the Data Setup Manually.
Updating the Vehicle Database, if your current Vehicle Database is more than 20 days old:
- Logout of CCC Estimating.
- Click on the Windows Start button on your desktop.
- Click on Programs and select the CCC ONE folder.
- Click on CCC Update Manager.
- Select Check for Updates Now
- Click on Download and Install once the Update Manager has completed searching for updates.
Running the Data Setup Manually:
- Logout of CCC Estimating.
- Click on the Windows Start button on your desktop.
- Click on Programs and select the CCC ONE folder.
- Click on CCC Update Manager.
- Select the Maintenance Tab
- Click on Run Data Setup.
- Follow the prompts on the screen and click Next.
- Select Install/Update.
- Verify the Month listed in the information box then click Next.
- Once completed Log into CCC Estimating to verify you are able to decode the VIN in question.
