CCC OEM Recall Notices is a feature within CCC Estimating that enables a recall notice (if available) to display when decoding a VIN on a vehicle.
Once you have entered a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) and selected the appropriate Model from the CCC Standard Vehicle Selection screen that appears, you may see a Vehicle Recall Notice pop-up.
You will have Print and OK options at the bottom of the notice. The Print option utilizes any virtual or physical printers you have installed and configured in Windows.
If there is more than one recall listed in the notice, each will print on a separate piece of paper. IMPORTANT: Once you close this notice, it will no longer appear.
The availability and content of the Vehicle Recall Notice are customized for each vehicle's Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM). In order for an affected vehicle to trigger a notice, the specific VIN must be provided to CCC by the vehicle's OEM. If an OEM Recall Notice does not appear, this does not mean that vehicle has no open recalls. The entered VIN may have other recalls not necessitating an alert (that the OEM has opted to not utilize the OEM Recall Notice feature for).
If you subscribe to the optional Recall database in CCC Estimating, you can also view any potential recalls that the OEM has provided to CCC. To access the (optional) Recall database information:
- Open or create a workfile.
- Select the Vehicle tab, and then click the Description tab.
- Select a vehicle or enter the VIN.
- Select the Recall Notices button above the VIN field.
If you do not see the Recall Notices button, you do not have access to the Recall database. You may need to speak with your CCC account representative to order this optional database.
