The Attachment feature allows you to attach images and other documents to an open or closed workfile. Some of the supported attachment types include .jpg, .tiff, .bmp, .doc and .pdf. This feature also allows you to enter comments on documents and images. Images can also be selected and sent to an to an insurance company when working on workfiles that are sent to an insurance company.
When attaching images to a workfile, you must enter any note or description related to the image in the Notes field located in the bottom of the screen in the Attachments tab. Insurers will only see notes entered in this field and not the image labels that can be changed directly under each image. Please use this process to document all image attachments.
Hovering your mouse over an image will allow you to view a larger image on your screen. To access image adjustment and navigational controls, double-click the image to open in a new screen.
Attachment images can be tagged Send to Insurance Now. This feature allows you to add and send images to an insurance company without creating a supplement. Attachments can be added regardless of the workfile status.
Attachment multi-select has been added for Send to Insurance and Show photo to customer options.

Adding Attachments
Attachments can be added to workfiles using the Attachments tab, or from a parts invoice or a credit memo. Beginning with CCC Estimating version 1.3 Service Pack 9, when attaching images to a workfile, you now must enter any note or description related to the image in the Notes field located in the bottom of the screen in the Attachments tab. Insurers will only see notes entered in this field and not the image labels that can be changed directly under each image. Please use this process to document all image attachments.
To add an attachment from a file folder
- Click View > Workfiles from the menu bar. Use one of the workfile search options to locate the workfile you want to add an attachment.
- Double-click on the workfile . The workfile details screen opens.
- From the Attachments toolbar, click the Actions button, and then click Attach - From Folder. The File Open screen opens.
- Navigate to the files or images you want to attach.
- After you have selected one or more file attachments, click Open. The selected attachments appear in the Attachments pane.
- Click Save or Save and Close.
Note: Multiple files can be selected at one time. Document type files are represented by their respective document type icon and do not display in the Image pane. Double-click on a file will open it in a separate window.
To add an attachment from a camera or scanner
You must first attach your camera or scanner in order to use this feature. Follow these steps to attach files from a camera or scanner.
- Select View > Workfiles from the menu bar. Use one of the workfile search options to locate the workfile you want to add an attachment.
- Double-click on the workfile you want to work on. The workfile details screen opens.
- Select the Attachments tab. The Attachments screen opens.
- From the Attachments toolbar, click the Actions button, and then click Attach - From Camera / Scanner. The Select Device dialog box opens.
- Select the device that contains the files you want to attach.
- Click OK. The Get Pictures from dialog box opens.
- Select the files and click the Get Pictures button.
To add notes to an attachment
- From the Attachments pane, click on the attachment. The Attachments pane displays the Notes field.
- Enter your notes in the field.
- Click Save or Save and Close from the toolbar.
Note: Annotations can be added to multiple files. However, annotations are not saved until you select Save from the toolbar.
Adding Attachments to a Purchase Order or Credit Memo
Image or document attachments can be added to purchase orders and credit memos from a folder or from a camera/scanner.
To add an attachment from a folder
- Open the purchase order .
- Click the Attach - From Folder button.
- Navigate to the folder, and then click on the file.
- Click the Open button. The selected file is displayed in the credit memo Attachment panel.
To add an attachment from a scanner
- Open the purchase order.
- Click the Attach - From Scanner button.
- Scan the document or image.
- The attachment is displayed in the credit memo Attachment panel.
To add an attachment from a camera
- Open the purchase order.
- Click the Attach - From Scanner button.
- Select one or more images.
- The images are displayed in the credit memo Attachment panel.

To rotate the image
- Open the workfile, and then select the Attachments tab.
- Double-click on an image in the Attachments pane. The image screen opens.
- Click on Rotate or use Rotate button control.
- Click OK, and then click Yes.
To adjust the image brightness and contrast
- Open the workfile, and then select the Attachments tab.
- Double-click on an image in the Attachments pane. The image screen opens.
- Click on the Brightness or Contrast slide control, and then drag the control to adjust the level.
- Click OK, and then click Yes.
To use the image invert and crop controls
- Open the workfile, and then select the Attachments tab.
- Double-click on an image in the Attachments pane. The image screen opens.
- Select Invert from the toolbar. The image is displayed as a negative image.
- From the Image pane, click and drag the image area to be saved. The image area to be saved is displayed as a framed positive image.
- Click on the framed image area, and then drag and drop the framed image area to adjust the location of the image area to be saved. The adjusted image is displayed in the Image pane.
- Select Crop from the Image pane. The cropped image is displayed.
- Click OK, and then click Yes.
To use the zoom in, zoom out image controls
- Open the workfile, and then select the Attachments tab.
- Double-click on an image in the Attachments pane. The image screen opens.
- Click Zoom Out from the toolbar, and then click on the image. The image is decreased in size.
- Click Zoom In from the toolbar, and then click on the image. The image is increased in size.
- Click OK, and then click Yes.
Note: Select the right or left arrows to advance to the next or previous image.
Selecting Attachments for Customer Viewing
This feature allows you to tag an attachment that can be viewed by the customer. You must first enable the customer self-service web site in your repair facility profile under Repair Management.
To select an attachment for customer viewing
- Open the workfile, and then select the Attachments tab.
- Select the attachment from the attachments pane.
- Select the attachment, and then select the Show to customer option in the lower right corner of the form.
- Click Save or Save and Close.
Sending Attachments to an Insurance Company
This feature allows you to select one or more attachments, and then send them to an insurance company. An additional option allows you to select one or more image attachments to send to the insurance company without locking the estimate.
To send an attachment
- Open the workfile, and then select the Attachments tab.
- Click on an attachment from the Attachments pane.
- Click Yes under Send to Insurance. Selecting this option sends the selected attachment when the estimate is locked.

Select one or more image attachments in the screen, and then click the Send to Insurance Now option. The selected image attachments are sent to the insurance company in near real-time without locking the estimate. - Click Save or Save and Close.
Note: You can multi-select two or more attachments by pressing and holding down the Ctrl key, and then left-click on each attachment.
Exporting Attachment Files
The Save As option in the Attachments tab allows you to export files to your computer or other storage device.
To export attachment files
- Open the workfile.
- Click the Attachments tab. The Attachments screen opens.
- From the Attachments panel, right-click the image or file, and then select Save As.
- Browse or select the destination folder, and then click OK.
Note: Alternately, select the file, and then click Actions > Save As from the Attachments toolbar.
