CCC offers insurance carriers the ability to send electronic assignments to repair facilities that they do not have a Direct Repair Program (DRP) agreement with. This ability is called Open Shop and allows your repair facility to receive these assignments and return estimates/supplements directly to the insurance carrier just as if it were a DRP assignment. Open Shop assignments do not create a contractual obligation between an insurance carrier and your shop. Insurance carriers may send additional expectations (e.g., repair policies, part policies, etc); however, you are not obligated to follow these requests.
When a carrier chooses to send your repair facility an Open Shop assignment, you will receive a notification. The delivery method of this notification will vary depending on the carrier as well as which estimatics software you use to write your estimates.
- CCC Estimating shops are notified via the Messages inside the program. Some insurance companies have an additional configuration that will send you a notification email for all Open Shop assignments for that carrier, however, this functionality is controlled by the insurance company. Email configuration cannot be added for additional carriers who have opted not to have this already in place.
- Non-CCC Estimating Shops that use MyCCCPortal.com to send and receive their assignments are notified via email only. As these shops do not have access to CCC Estimating, they cannot receive Messages in the application.
