Service Account Permissions
CCC Update Manager requires a password protected Windows administrator local account in order to retrieve software serial number information as well as download and install updates.
Verify that the Windows account running the CCC Scheduler Service has access to the network path as well as local admin rights.
NOTE: Workgroup workstations need to have the same username/password created on the machine with the service as well as the machine that has the CCCSUM cache.
Domain workstations need to be using a domain login that is in the local Administrators group.
If your Windows Administrator local account is not configured with the correct/updated password, you can:
- Create a separate Windows administrator local account with a never expiring password (In order to download and install updates, CCC ONE Update Manager must always be configured with the latest password for the Windows local account specified. As a result, it is recommended to specify an account for which the password does not expire.)
- Add a password to your existing Windows administrator local account
If you are unsure about your network or Windows passwords and/or accounts, please contact your network administrator for assistance.
